South Pond Engagement Photos
I was so excited to meet with Zuri and Alex for the engagement shoot at South Pond this past week. We looked at the weather report and decided on an unusually warm looking monday. What we didn't predict is that the temperature would drop to bellow freezing and it would be snowing by the end of their session. Alex, Zuri, and their two dogs were troopers though and we had an amazing shoot with the Chicago Skyline and the Honeycomb as amazing backdrops to their city engagement shoot. I can't wait to photograph their wedding on September 3rd, 2016!
Springvalley Nature Preserve in Schaumburg Engagement Session
I was so excited to photograph Sebastian and Nicole's engagement shoot this week at Springvalley Nature Preserve in Schaumburg. It was such a gorgeous fall day and all the wildflowers there were in full bloom. They were all laughs the whole time which makes my job of capturing them way too fun and easy. I can't wait for their wedding this June!
Paul + Dave
I am excited to introduce you to Paul and Dave, I had the pleasure of photographing them at the Brookfield Zoo a few weekends ago and have the honor of photographing their wedding this weekend at the Brookfield Zoo.
Paul and Dave met while they were both out with friends the night before Thanksgiving in 2000. They started talking early in the night and before they knew it, it was last call.
During the weekend, we like to shop, play games with friends and family (especially mah jongg) and go up to the place they share with family in Michigan.
Dave grew up in Elmhurst and went to Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington. Paul grew up in Deerfield and went to Brandeis University in Boston. Dave can easily find his way around the western suburbs but gets lost up north. Paul can find his way easily around the northern suburbs but gets lost out west. That's why they say they are so perfect for each other. And they have a cat named Delilah.
Ian + Jenny
I have know Ian for years so I was really excited when he messaged me to inquire about me photographing their upcoming wedding this fall. We met at the Naperville riverwalk and they braved the cold so we could get them some great engagement shots and some pictures of them with their adorable son as well!
Chicago G&L Bar and Montrose Beach Winter Engagement Session
Jennifer and Bob started dating two years ago, in December 2012. They met at G&L the year before as the bar was his regular dive bar hangout and it was the hangout for one of my girlfriends, Kimberly Arndt, as well. This is why we started our shoot at that very bar. They would hang out and be drinking friends at the bar, until one night when they realized there was a connection beyond friends and the rest was history. They got engaged on September 20th in Paris on the Love Lock bridge after a day of bike riding and sightseeing in the city. Does it even get more romantic that that?
Naperville Riverwalk Engagement Session
I met with Matt and Candice exactly one month after their wedding to do their post wedding couple shoot. We met in Naperville on the riverwalk and also went through some of the alleys to get some more urban images so they had a nice mix of images to decorate their walls of their new place with. Although I may need to see them again soon since they are getting a 4 legged new member of the family and he will want to be on the walls too! Enjoy your images!!
Graue Mill Oak Brook Engagement and Family Session
I had met Liz and Jesse through Bella Life photography a few years ago when her youngest was just a baby! When she had emailed me to inquire about wedding photography I was excited to meet her and talk about her awesome wedding since I hadn't seen her in a few years.
We decided on Graue Mill in Oak Brook for our location and then she and the family braved the cold for an awesome shoot with the most gorgeous light you could imagine. While it wasn't the warmest day I hope you can feel a little bit of the warmth she has within her beautiful family! Can't wait till your wedding!!
Hilton Head Island Rehearsal Dinner on a Boat
So it isn't often I photograph rehearsal dinners....but when that dinner is on a boat you can count me in!! The boat was just gorgeous, so much character, and what was even cooler is Mark had images of it when it was a working boat and when it was being built back in 1901. It is a Chesapeake buy boat used to transport oysters from the oyster bed ad back to Chesapeake bay. It was a gorgeous day in Hilton Head Island, Hot but not too hot! The appetizers where to die for, goat cheese pot stickers happened....and it was divine! Those came from a restaurant called NEO The band playing was Mike Walters Orchestra and they where so good that they had an audience on the harbor sitting and watching while enjoying the music. Mark joked we should charge a cover. So take a peak at their start of their wedding weekend! More to come from their wedding in the next few weeks

Urban Chicago Engagement Session
I was so excited to hear from Sara about shooting her engagement photos. We had been trying to connect for quite some time so I was so excited it finally came to fruition! We decided on a cool urban shoot in the city after our initial idea of the museum campus was being taken over by Jack Johnson fans.
We started outside their apartment in the north side of Chicago. They had the cutest courtyard!
Then we needed to find a bathroom for a quick change! Lucky us there was a Binny's right around the corner!! Sara changed into this amazing blue dress!!!
Matt B and Angela's Chicago Beach Engagement
So you may see some familiar faces here as I had shot Matthew and Angela a few weeks ago in Millennium Park. Angela and Matthew also wanted to do a shoot on the beach but it was way too cold on our original date so we decided to do another engagement shoot at Montrose beach in Chicago. This was a special location to them since this is actually where Matthew Proposed! So here they are! I can't wait to photograph their wedding come this July! I also had my second shooter Kimberli come with me to this shoot so she could meet the couple before their big day!
After getting done on the beach we took a short walk to the wall to check out the skyline as the sun disappeared. There may of been some clouds of bugs as we walked though to get there. Matthew's reaction was hilarious, he really doesn't like bugs! But they soldiered though.
