Spring Chicago Courthouse Elopement of Same Sex Couple

I am so happy to share the Chicago Courthouse Wedding images of Jean-Marie & Alyssa. Their families both came to town from acorss the country for the special day on August 4. I have never photographed a weekday courthouse wedding before but must say I was pleasantly surprised with the shortest line ever! We also had one of the nicest Judges I have ever came across there. It was a rare cool August day which was just perfect for being outside, and luckily we just missed the rain. After they wed I had us head up to the top of a chicago parking garage where I had parked and scoped out earlier to get some fun city shots without all the city traffic that is there at ground level. We then headed to Winnemac Park which was a place they had both spent time at and special to them!

Arlington Heights Family Photography

Stephanie contacted me a few months ago to take photos of her husband for some professional headshots, Upon photographing him I noticed in their home some gorgeous images of their children throughout the years on the walls. She had mentioned to me that she wanted to get some updated photos of the kids. Stephanie contacted me just a few days later so we could plan a session at their home in Arlington Heights before their move to the east coast at the end of July. They had the most amazing swing in a huge tree in their front yard that the kids loved that we captured, along with a great garden area. With all the rain we had, many of the flowers in her yard were in full bloom which was pretty much perfect for our session. Even though we had cloudy skies in the forecast we lucked out towards the end of our session while the sun peeked through the clouds. Enjoy some of the highlights from their session bellow.

I had the joy of photographing Miss Ruby's 1st birthday party. Her mom Katie and their family put together one of the cutest themed birthday parties ever! Check out her precious dress that looked like an ice cream cone! They had an ice cream sundae bar where they had just about every topping you can imagine! Instead of a cake smash Ruby had an ice cream smash and boy did she devour it! After that it was time for a bath and into another ice cream themed outfit! Enjoy seeing some her her day bellow!

Chicago Montrose Harbor Engagement Photos of Stephanie & Alex

Stephanie and Alex were my lucky winners from my free engagement session drawing at the Villa Olivia Wedding show this past April. We met on this past Saturday at Montrose Harbor in Chicago on what ended up being the PERFECT day, despite the weather reports saying it had a 80% chance of rain. They were both dressed for to perfection with Stephanie in a gorgeous blue maxi dress and and Alex in the most amazing boat shoes. We snuck into the docks with some help from Alex's friend and laughed as we explored the whole area. My favorite moment was Alex practically doing a Dirty Dancing style lift with Stephanie when I had asked for just a little lift. It was pretty much the most epic lift ever!

St.James Farm Engagement Photos of Kevin & Emily

Kevin and Emily met me last week at the beautiful St.James Farm in Warrenville Illinois. I must say St.James farm has been one of my favorite locations, as it provides so many different settings. It has everything from rustic barns, tall grasses, white picket fences, to gorgeous tree alleles. We also had some fun with a yellow umbrella since they had binged on "How I Met Your Mother" together. I was super excited to to incorporate it into the session since I also LOVED that show.  Kevin and Emily will be getting married this fall at the beautiful Acquaviva Winery in Maple Park and I can't wait till their big day.

Chicago 31st Street Harbor Engagement Session

I met with Rob and Dan last week at the Chicago 31st Street harbor for their engagement shoot. We had been looking at weather reports of rain all day and were on edge but we decided to go for it and I am so glad we did since we were greeted with gorgeous rainbows in the sky! You can't plan a session with the hope of rainbows but there they were and I don't think it could of been any more perfect! We ended the session with them popping some champaign which was pretty amazing! Then chatting about their upcoming wedding at the Chicago Symphony Center in July and great NPR podcasts. So take a look at some of the highlights of their session bellow.

Oak Park Engagement Photography of Sarah and Margaret

I met with Sarah and Margaret at their place and we headed to downtown Oak Park right around the corner from when they live. We went by Poor Phils, where they had one of their first dates. I had such a great time exploring the area with them and there are so many hidden gems we found along the way. After we finished there we headed out for some Chicago street art in Bucktown and Logans Square. We finished out our session at my favorite spot, South Pond in Chicago. I can't wait for your wedding this October.
